Antique Ashworth Bros 12-inch lidded serving tureen.
- A superb large Ahsworth Bros Ironstone china tureen
- B9178 pattern sometimes called Chaffinch, with wild rose full colour borders and pink breasted bird
- 12-inch long and 9.5-inch wide rectangular angled serving tureen 6.5-inch tall including the handled lid
- c1861 - 1890 manufacturing date range.
- Hand coloured transfer decorationÂ
- This tureen is in very good antique condition but has some linear glaze crazing and minor staining in the tureen base as shown
- Ashworth brothers were subsequently to produce Mason's Ironstone china.
- This early piece has Ashworth printed crown and banner marksÂ
- A lovely piece of rare ironstone for collectors
- Part of a large dinner service being listed.
