A fine antique Blue and gold Hawthornden pattern platter by Ridgways
- 1884 date stamped Hawthornden pattern serving platter with the rare narrow outer rim gilt detailing
- Manufactured at the Bedford Works Shelton Hanley Stoke on Trent
- Hawthornden pattern was registered by Ridgway, Sparkes & Ridgway in 1880, making this a rare early example. The pattern would later be the inspiration for Burleigh Calico
- Rich and Soft Cobalt Blue Cherry Blossom on a classic Ridgway rounded platter with real weight and a wonderful feel.
- The lower rim shows signs of having been in a wire wall rack at some time in the past.
- 12-1/8th-inch long by 9.5-inch wide rising to 1.25-inches tall at the rims
- Glazed base.
- Soft antique blue and white china transfer with good borders
- Very good antique patina with overall good antique condition, see video
