- China marks impressed Copeland B marks
- Early English shape with full hand coloured design with butterfly
- Superb large and impressive round oval platter 18.75-inch by 14.25-inch, rising to 1.5-inch at the rims
- Date stamped D 77 for December 1877 made by William Taylor Copeland & Sons Stoke, Staffordshire
- This stunning pared back version of the later Indian tree designs has very light colouring with greek key and geometric block border infill
- The glaze is peppered with fine soot deposits, characteristic of early Stoke kiln firings using coke.
- Very good antique condition, consistent with use over its 150 years of age
- A superb and impressive large antique platter in wonderful condition.
